DG –Come on division 6, let’s get sickening! I’m no Gotham historian, so I can’t say for certain if I’m the first person to start off their candidacy that way; but, what I can say for certain is I am here to bring fun, competitiveness, and new energy to Division 6. I joined gotham in 2015 (wow ok, dating myself) and have since played in many different divisions and have coached a couple teams. I’d be honored to be given the opportunity to create the next winning team (off and on the court) and a fun spring season 🙂

Josh Gomez-bruzas–Cmon D6 girlies, you know you want to see this screaming lunatic leading another team for our division. There’s no place I’d rather spend my saturdays then with this community we are constantly building in D6. I’d love another season of working to bring the perfect balance of competition and community.

Mikey Castro–Gotham has become my second family and as a captain I love growing that family. Also, as a captain I strive to make my team a safe space for everyone and a competitive one too! I always like to bring good energy and fun on and off the court. So, if re-elected get ready for a bear-y good time 😁🐻!

Michael Tarazi–I’ve had an amazing time captaining this season and would love another chance to do so! My goal is to continue to foster a team that is competitive, has fun both on and off the court, and most importantly prides themselves on creating an inclusive and welcoming community to both new and returning Gotham members.

Emilis (Em) Bružas–This Lithuanian is running for Congress! I’ve been in D6 for a couple of years now and I’m still obsessed – talent, personality, never ending looks. I’ve learned a lot here, and now I want to apply it beyond individual contributions. It’s time I put together a team of besties to spend Saturdays the only way we know how – have fun playing volleyball, and of course snatch medals along the way. Here are three promises: as a husband – next-level spousal drama, as a home cook – a multi-course dinner for my team, and as a libero – great passes with sound effects

Dan McCabe–Hi D6, I’m Dan McCabe and I hope you’ll support me in my bid for re-election as a captain! I’ve been a member of Gotham now for 8+ years, and a 3-time captain, twice in D5, and this fall season in D6. I deeply value the community that Gotham and D6 have offered me, and I’d welcome another opportunity to lead a team again in the spring 2024 season. Thank you!

Brady –It would be an honor to be your captain for the 11th time for my 6th Brady Bunch team named after yet another failed Brady Bunch spinoff. My teams are not about winning, they are about building friendships, being proud of how we play, celebrating our queerness, and having fucking fun. Gay volleyball should be fun above all else. I love you so fucking much, Division 6. You are my heart and my family.

Andrew Dowdye–Ooopp!!! She’s doing a thing 😀 I’m going to dip my toe back in the captain pool. I strive to have a healthy balance of fun and competition with team. #settrends Hope I get your pick <3

JUAN ARISMENDY MARRERO GERMAN–I firmly believe that my qualities as a grateful, urgent, and authentic leader, combined with my past experiences and dedication to the sport, make me the ideal candidate for this prestigious role. I understand and deeply appreciate the importance of gratitude in leadership. I am genuinely grateful for the opportunities and challenges that have come my way throughout my volleyball journey. Having started in Division 9, I have personally experienced the significance of resilience, hard work, and dedication. The ultimate testament to my unwavering commitment is the significant leap from Division 9 to 6, which was made possible through my relentless pursuit of improvement and my refusal to settle for anything less than excellence. If given the privilege to serve as the Spring Volleyball Captain, I commit to leading by example, both on and off the court. I will inspire my teammates to push their limits, consistently encouraging them to never settle for mediocrity. Captaining a team requires excellent communication skills, and I assure you that I am an active listener who will value the ideas, concerns, and aspirations of every team member. In conclusion, I believe that my qualities as a grateful, urgent, and authentic leader, coupled with my ability to understand and work directly with players to enhance their skills, make me an excellent candidate for the Spring Volleyball Captain position. I would be honored to contribute my skills, passion, and dedication to the team, and I am confident that I can make a positive impact on both individual players and the team as a whole.
