Our mission and programs

Our mission

We strive to improve the quality of life for LGBTQIA+ individuals by building community through the sport of volleyball.

Founded in 1981, Gotham Volleyball is the largest organization of its kind in New York City.

We encourage volleyball training and competition in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. And, we further strengthen our community through social events and partnerships with organizations that have similar missions.

Participation in Gotham is open to all who are over 18 years of age, whether identifying as LGBTQIA+ or as an ally.

Our programs

Gotham has a full array of volleyball, including Division Play (our league play program), Training (for individuals and teams) and Tournaments and Open Play (one-off events).

In addition to volleyball, Gotham runs frequent social events, where you can meet other players and be an integral part of our community.
