Matt Poon–When I think back to all the teams I’ve had the pleasure of being on, the qualities of the captains that stuck with me the most were kindness, encouraging, and thoughtfulness. I want to be a captain who is welcoming and supportive, and who values both community and competition. I’d lead a team that laughs a lot, feels comfortable enough to give and receive feedback, and ends their season wanting to try out again. I may not be the loudest person in the room, but I hope my ability to make people feel welcomed and belonged is memorable enough. I believe I’d be a strong captain and I hope you do too.

Andrew Foley–Hey y’all! This has been my 5th season in Gotham—I’m here first and foremost for community. If you’ve played with me, you know that I’m all about helping to build the team energy that supports a win and supporting discussions about how we each individually contribute to that. I am so grateful for the people that Gotham has and will continue to bring into my life!

Nick Anthony Dantuono–D10s,10s,10s across the board! Having the opportunity to captain for the first time last season was an enriching experience, and I’m ready to “serve” again! As captain, I strive to foster a team environment that’s supportive, social, and growth-oriented. I believe the sweetest victories come from fostering meaningful connections that flourish beyond the court and providing a healthy platform for athletic development through learning and improving together. Let’s make next season one to remember, and continue building an inclusive division by creating and strengthening friendships. In the wise words of Taylor Swift, Spring ‘24…Are you ready for it!?

Mateo Onori–I am interested in serving as Captain for Division10 because I posses the necessary traits to go above and beyond as a Captain. I am hardworking, kind, considerate, understanding, organized, motivational and a friend to all that come my way. I have been Captain many times in my over 14 year volleyball career for other leagues and tournaments. I would be honored to represent Division 10 and the Gotham league which has given me so joy and sense of community in my life.

Kyle Philley–I want to become a captain so I can help support my team and encourage a warm atmosphere balanced with friendly, healthy competition. I want to help people grow and relay all that I have learned in my 3 seasons in Gotham to bolster others in the community.

Nathan Kendrick–As I have immensely benefited from the fabulous Gotham community, I approach the role of captain with great seriousness. I adore how this sport naturally brings people together, fostering shared experiences and camaraderie. It’s through trust, teamwork, and unwavering support for our teammates that we achieve victory. Let’s sashay onto the court, serve up some fierceness, and turn every match into a glittering celebration of our fabulous community’s spirit! 🏳️🌈🏐💃✨

Peter Englert–Hey y’all, after playing in Gotham since Fall 2019 and captaining for 3 seasons, I’d like to serve as captain as I enjoy building a team to have fun both on and off the court. While winning is exciting, getting to know as many of you in D10 as possible is what I really look forward to each season. I tend to lose my voice from cheering each week, so clever team names and fun cheers are always part of the arsenal (besides the team google doc 😉) – I appreciate your consideration, see you on the court!

Will Linendoll–To me, Gotham Volleyball has always been about community. Through my 8 seasons as part of the Gotham family, I’ve seen how this program makes an impact both on and off the court. As a team captain, I’d strive to continue building this community and providing a safe space through the sport of volleyball.

Fabio Del Carlo–After 4 seasons in Gotham, I am genuinely thrilled about the chance to step into the role of a division 10 captain. Beyond my passion for volleyball, I’m committed to nurturing a welcoming and supportive space where teammates feel valued both on and off the court. I’m eager to unite our team not only in competition but also in memorable social events that strengthen our bond. I’m dedicated to bringing out the best in our division, both athletically and socially, and I can’t wait to make this spring season a truly unforgettable experience for all! 🏐

Dalton Baker–Appa! Yip! Yip! It’s me, hi, Im running for captain it’s me! hey Division 10, my name is Dalton Baker and I would like to be one of your captains next season. This would be my second time as captain and 4th season of Gotham volleyball. I’m currently finishing up my first season as captain and I could not love my team more (silver for the season doesn’t hurt either!). As captain I will continue to make sure we’re developing our skills as players, building a community outside our games and most importantly that there are always good vibes on the team!

Michael Roach–Two years ago, I decided to finally listen to my best friend who was insistent I join Gotham Volleyball. I’m so glad I did. Not only have I been able to develop skills in a sport I love, but I’ve discovered a community of people who are loving and accepting. People who have changed my life. I’ve made dear friends and found a hobby I can progressively improve at, not just in play but teamwork and leadership. I want every player in Gotham, new and old, to have these experiences, and I hope I can make that happen as Captain.
