Gotham Candidate Forum: Division 6
Players in Division 6 will be voting from May 7th, 2025, through 11:59 PM on May 11th, 2025, to elect captains for the Fall 2025 Division Play Season as well as Team All Stars for the Spring 2025 Division Play Season. If you play in Division 6 and have not received a ballot after 2 PM on May 7th, please e-mail [email protected].

- Alfredo Castillo–Caption Being in Gotham now for several seasons, witnessing many amazing captains who have guided me and many others on what it takes to be a respectful leader in this community, I believe it is my turn to give that same leadership to incoming or recurrent players to come to their highest potential! I promise to bring the fierceness and silliness of volleyball on and off the court for a great season!

- Zach Lowry–Hey D6! It’s been so meaningful for me to be a part of this division and the larger Gotham community the past five seasons. D6 is such a welcoming, competitive, and super fun group that is truly special within Gotham. I’d love the opportunity to be a captain and help continue to foster the amazing culture and lead a competitive team. Let me handle the lineups and organization (which I’m good at and enjoy doing 🤓) so that you can focus on being yourself, having fun, and finding new social connections each week! Let’s get that bag!

- Johnny Cordero–Hey babes, I’m running for captain because this division deserves leadership with spice, spark, and a killer serve. I’m here to hype you up, hold it down, and make sure we slay—on and off the court. I know when to bring the drama (in the best way) and when to bring the hustle. - Mikey Castro–Back, back, back again! Nothing makes me happier than getting the opportunity to be a captain and pick the greatest group of players to have fun and experience queer joy through volleyball 😍. One thing I can promise is that if elected I will bring excitement both on the court off and you’ll be a part of my Bear legacy. Outside of division play I try my best not to schedule brunches, karaoke, hosting a game night but that list can go on and on. Gotham has become my family and I hope to make this a family for you and a safe space to be your best self!

- Alex Costet–Hi y’all! I’m hoping to return for a 3rd round of captaining after many years of break. My goal will be to gather a team that understands the value and importance of community while striving to play competitively. Gotham has been very good to me over the years and I intend to honor and perpetuate that next season!

- Dan Johnson–I’m running for captain because I want to create a team that is infectious in its support for each other, its fierce competitiveness, and its love for this incredible D6 community. In my four seasons in D6, I have learned so much from each of my captains (shout out Mikey, Dan, Brady, and Em). I see captaining as an opportunity to share what I’ve learned, uplift teammates, radiate positivity, and play some really damn good volleyball.

- Nick Kim Sexton–Hi D6! Did you know that Michelle Visage was my high school volleyball coach? Hehe just kidding On a serious note, I’d love to captain and make a team where we uplift each other on and off the court. My goal for us: grow in some way — whether in volleyball skill, mentally in how we approach challenges, or most importantly in building lovely friendships. Gotham is a beautiful community that’s given me a lot & I’d love to give back.

- Brady –I’ve had the privilege of being a Captain in Division 6 for 13 seasons. I love this community more than anything. I want every player to leave my court with a smile on their face, because, win or lose, they tried their best, cheered their ass off, and had the chance to celebrate the special, beautiful, silly, supportive, colorful, campy, JOYFUL, queer space we all built together. Division 6’s community gave me the safe space to throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks. My style, identity, and chosen family all come from this division. As a Captain, my only campaign promise is to always be the biggest F*ggot in the room so you can find where you belong on the spectrum too. Also I just want to have fun playing volleyball. Let’s have the most fucking fun we possibly can playing volleyball together.
