COVID-19 Update (updated 2/18/2021)

We all miss you (and volleyball) terribly, and look forward to the day we can all be together again in person!

At this point, New York State public health guidance no longer prohibits indoor and outdoor volleyball from being played, but some restrictions prevent us from resuming activities right away.   Most importantly, when we return to play, we want to ensure  that we are doing so safely and in a way that everyone in our community has an opportunity to participate.

Because of this, Gotham has officially begun the process we will use to decide how and when we will return to play!  Our plan will continue over the next several months through three phases: (1) assessment and planning, (2) initial volleyball programming and (3) return to full season play.  We will be sharing more details how each phase of the plan will work shortly.

In phase one, we want to hear from our members about returning to volleyball.  We will be scheduling a Return to Play member forum within the coming weeks to allow our members to hear some of our plans and to share thoughts or suggestions you may have about returning to volleyball play.  We will also be sending out a member survey after the forum is complete and take all of your feedback into account as we plan our return to volleyball.  In the meantime, if you have anything you’d like to share, you can reply to this e-mail or e-mail [email protected]

In the meantime, we are keeping our community together through the weekly newsletter, social media campaigns and non-volleyball activities planned by our Communications Committee and our Activities & Outreach leadership group.   I hope you can all join us for some of these events!

Stay healthy and safe and we hope to see you all very soon.
