COVID-19 Update (updated 12/23/20)

We all miss you (and volleyball) terribly, and look forward to the day we can all be together again in person!

At this point, New York State public health guidance continues to prevent volleyball matches, tournaments and team practices, and because of the current widespread prevalence of COVID-19 in the United States, we will be unable to begin our Spring 2021 season as planned.  However, there’s also strong indications that the time is coming sooner rather than later where we will be back on the court and together again. With vaccinations beginning, we are optimistic we will be able to resume playing volleyball in the coming months once the guidance provides that it is safe to do so.

As the time approaches to return to play volleyball, we are committed to engage all interested members for suggestions and feedback through an upcoming return-to-play member forum, surveys, social media and e-mail.  We always welcome comments and want your ideas to be part of the planning process!  If you have anything you’d like to share, you can reply to this e-mail or at [email protected]

In the meantime, we are keeping our community together through the weekly newsletter, social media campaigns and non-volleyball activities planned by our Communications Committee and our Activities & Outreach leadership group.   I hope you can all join us for some of these events!

Finally, the Board will vote in January to extend membership of all current Gotham members so that you can remain part of the Gotham community through the point we return to the volleyball court.

Best wishes this holiday season!  Stay healthy and safe and we hope to see you all very soon.
